Top 5 Pig Farming Companies in Vietnam
After more than 2 years of developing the modern livestock segment under the superior model 3F (Feed-Farm-Food), BAF Vietnam Agriculture Joint Stock Company (BAF, Company) has achieved impressive success. Up to now, BAF has put into operation 16 closed farms across Vietnam which apply modern 4.0 advanced technology in the world to raise pigs and breeding stocks. The total herd of pigs is up to 130.000, BAF has risen to the Top 5 Pig Farming Companies in Vietnam. In 2022, BAF will put into operation 6 more modern farms, increasing the total scale to 27,000 breeding stocks and 200,000 pigs to meet the recent increasing demand for quality food.
Thanks to the optimization of the 3F breeding process, the volume of pigs sold has recorded an impressive growth recently. In the first 4 months of 2022, the number of pigs sold reached 93,602 heads, nearly 4 times higher than the same period last year. The production of ready-to-market pigs is up to 120,064 heads, an increase of 1.4 times compared to the same period last year. With such impressive figures, BAF has shown not only its growth in the number of pigs sold but also marks the development of the enterprise’s livestock production capacity and scale – the basis to ensure the growth in revenue and profit of livestock in the upcoming time.

The gross profit margin from BAF’s livestock segment has always fluctuated at an attractive level of 35% – 39%, outperforming some competitors in the same industry. Thanks to the absolutely closed 3F breeding process, taking the initiative in all inputs and outputs, it is possible to limit risks in the context of “escalating” animal feed prices due to the Russian war – Ukraine. The two BAF Tay Ninh feed mills and Phu My bran factory with a total capacity of 240 thousand tons/year inefficient operation have solved the problem of fluctuations in feed prices as well as providing highly nutritious feed for BAF’s pigs.
The results of the recent increase in livestock scale have ensured the profits as well as the necessary financial resources to implement the strategy to rise to the position of the Top 3 leading livestock companies in Vietnam by 2030.
In addition, BAF has been autonomous in distribution networks with the effective Siba Food and Meat shop models, in parallel with supermarket channels, convenience stores, and wholesale partners. Siba Food is currently applying the innovative “Modern Minimart – Traditional Meat Shop” model, in order to reach consumers in a more multi-dimensional way, from the Modern Trade – Modern MT channel (small supermarket) to the whole market Traditional General Trade – GT channel. Up to now, BAF’s high-quality pork products have been distributed through a network of nearly 50 Siba Food stores and nearly 150 Meat shops across the country. With a vision to 2030, Siba Food will own the largest chain of food stores in Vietnam with about 1,500 Siba Food stores and 15,000 Meat shops.
BAF’s fresh, hygienic and high-quality pork products are well received and highly appreciated by the market, so BAF was honored for the first time at the award ceremony “Top 10 Vietnamese brands for the benefit of consumers in 2022”. This is a testament to the right strategic direction that the company is pursuing.

In addition to the mission of providing quality food to consumers, BAF always accompanies the development of the community and society. On April 4, 2022, BAF officially became the main sponsor of the 2022 National Cup football tournament. This is considered an affirmation of the Company’s commitment to the community and society, contributing to the development of the locality and accompanying the development of Vietnamese football.
